STAKEHOLDERS GUIDE NEW NSP DEVELOPMENT
The current National HIV and AIDS Strategic Plan (NSP) (2006
– 2011) has come to an end in March 2011. It became
imperative therefore for a new NSP to be developed to guide
the national
multi-sectoral HIV and AIDS response in Lesotho
for the next five years.

HIS MAJESTY COMMENDS ACCELERATION OF
PMTCT SERVICES
His Majesty King Letsie III has commended the country for
striving to make major strides in reaching Universal Access
targets by accelerating Prevention of Mother To Child
Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV and AIDS to ensure that children
and their mothers lead a healthy living. |

LESOTHO REPRESENTED AT THE XVIII
INTERNATIONAL AIDS CONFERENCE
Human Rights approach to fighting HIV and AIDS, towards the
AIDS vaccine, towards universal access and combination
prevention were some of the topics of discussion among
policymakers, people living with HIV and others committed to
ending the epidemic, during the recent International AIDS
Conference held in Vienna, Austria between 18-23 July 2010.

LESOTHO INTENSIFIES HIV PREVENTION
DURING FIFA WORLD CUP
Stakeholders working in the field of HIV prevention came
together to intensify HIV prevention efforts through an HIV
Prevention Campaign that took place during the recent FIFA
World cup which ran for thirty days from June 11 to July 11,
2010.

MEN HAVING SEX WITH OTHER MEN
DISCUSSED AT NAC DISCUSSION FORUM
In a recent discussion forum hosted by the National AIDS
Commission (NAC), issues around Men having Sex with other
Men (MSM) as well as the general issues around same sex
relations came to the fore as stakeholders struggled to
understand why such behaviours exist.

LILALA HOST WORLD AIDS DAY 2009
World AIDS Day is a day recognised worldwide to remember
loved ones who have passed away due to AIDS related
illnesses and those who have been infected and affected by
HIV and AIDS. It is commemorated annually on December 1st.
2009 saw this solemn day being commemorated in Thaba-Tseka
district, the home of Lilala. |
