The
National AIDS Commission (NAC) will host a one day National HIV
and AIDS Quarterly Partnership Forum for HIV and AIDS
stakeholders, scheduled to take place at ‘Manthabiseng
Convention Centre on Thursday February 26, 2009.
The objective of the Partnership Forum is to monitor and review
progress on implementation of the annual operational plan by
taking stock on all HIV and AIDS interventions and efforts in
scaling-up responses by all implementing partners, as well as to
ensure holistic reporting on the national initiatives.
During the Forum, stakeholders including the umbrella
organizations and key line Ministries will therefore be expected
to report on all interventions and efforts in scaling-up the
response within their constituencies, and presentations are
expected to highlight achievements, challenges and gaps as well
as the future strategic direction including remedial actions.
NAC will also endeavour to provide feedback on issues raised
during the previous Annual Partnership Forum. Other major topics
to be discussed include updates on the progress regarding the
National Strategic Plan Mid-term Review, research findings on
HIV and AIDS Workplace Survey, the Faith Based Prevention
Project and updates on the Joint UN Support.
Stakeholders invited to participate at the forum include
representatives from Government Ministries, Civil Society,
Private Sector, Development Partners and District Authorities.
The forum is a quarterly event that is established in line with
the National HIV and AIDS Coordination framework to provide
opportunity to monitor and review implementation of the Annual
Operational Plan, which is drawn from the National HIV and AIDS
Strategic Plan.
