NAC
CONDUCTS TRAINING ON BASIC M & E FOR DISTRICT STAKEHOLDERS
The
National AIDS Commission (NAC) will conduct training on basic
monitoring and evaluation (M & E) for district M & E Technical
Working Groups (TWGs) and umbrella bodies starting from 1st to
19 March 2010. The TWGs comprise M&E officers from different
organizations involved in the response to HIV and AIDS.
The
aim of the training is to equip participants with basic skills
on M & E in fulfilling the national commitment of implementing
one of the Three Ones Principle of strengthening “One national
M&E System”. The main objective of the training is to strengthen
capacity of M&E personnel in different organisations as well as
people designated to do M&E duties.
The
expected results are improved monitoring and evaluation of
interventions towards HIV and AIDS, thus producing credible
reports that will inform decision making. These trainings have
been supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The
training workshops will commence in the South region, covering
the districts of Mafeteng, Mohale’shoek, Quthing and Qacha’snek
from the 1st to 5th March in Mohales’hoek. Thereafter the
central region, which will cover Maseru and Thaba-Tseka will
undergo training from the 8th to 12th March in Maseru. The last
batch of training will cover the North region, being Berea,
Leribe, Botha-Bothe and Mokhotlonng from the 15st to 19th March
in Leribe
Participants will be drawn from M&E officers from various
organisations or people responsible for organisational reports
to participate in the M&E trainings as scheduled in the three
regions of the country.
